The murders of Duke and Youngin became one of the most debated OBlock related cases of 2025. Almost immediately after the shooting, online discussions started pointing in different directions, with some people claiming it was connected to long running OBlock rivalries, while others argued the real story was more complicated.
On May 10, 2025, Duke, Youngin, and Smoove reportedly left a birthday gathering before multiple shooters opened fire. Duke and Youngin later died from their injuries, while Smoove survived. The vehicle believed to have been used in the shooting was later found abandoned and burned, which only added more questions around the case.

One of the first major claims repeated online was that this was not random. People connected to the situation began pushing the idea that this was “opps work,” while others tried to argue different possibilities.

From there, three major theories started forming.
The first theory pointed toward TW, STL, EBT, and Jaro. This theory gained attention because of the long running history between those sides and OBlock. One post that fueled the discussion showed OBlock members allegedly dropping the V while holding Youngin’s obituary, which became one of the most talked about pieces connected to this theory.

But that theory is not the only one. Another major theory points toward Frontstreet, NickoGang, and TrapCity connections. This side of the story gets deeper because it brings in older OBlock and Frontstreet tension, the ChinaMan situation, Lappy’s alleged connection, and names like Devies and Lil Dre, who have been heavily discussed online.

There is also a third theory connected to GoolyGang, mainly because the vehicle believed to have been used in the murder was reportedly found burned in that area. This theory has less behind it than the others, but it is still part of the larger online debate.

The reactions, the alleged subliminals, the rap lyrics, the Instagram posts, the claims of get back, and the arguments over who really did what all turned this into one of the most complicated Chicago street cases discussed online.
One of the bigger pieces tied to the Frontstreet theory is a subliminal post that people believe was aimed at Frontstreet and people playing both sides.
