15 Shot, 4 Killed: Chicago’s Violent Weekend Turns Streets Into War Zones

CHICAGO — A violent weekend across Chicago has left multiple communities shaken after a series of shootings resulted in at least 15 people shot and four killed in just a short span of time.

Police say the violence unfolded across several neighborhoods, with incidents reported from late Friday into Sunday. Victims ranged in age, and many of the shootings happened in public areas, including streets and residential blocks.

Among the deadly incidents, four individuals lost their lives after being shot in separate attacks. In several other cases, victims were rushed to hospitals with gunshot wounds, some listed in serious condition.

Authorities say many of the shootings appear to be unrelated, highlighting the ongoing challenge of gun violence across different parts of the city. Investigators are still working to determine motives and identify suspects in multiple cases.

In some incidents, witnesses reported hearing rapid gunfire before victims were found wounded at the scene. Emergency crews responded quickly, transporting victims for urgent medical treatment.

So far, no major arrests have been announced in connection with the weekend violence, and police continue to ask for the public’s help as they investigate each shooting.

The surge in violence has once again raised concerns about safety as the city heads into another busy season, with officials continuing efforts to address ongoing crime across Chicago neighborhoods.
