Rene Parks, 49, is accused of shooting and killing her husband, Garreth Parks Jr., 31, in the 3700 block of West Belvedere Avenue in Baltimore.
Garreth was sitting in the driver’s seat of a silver Oldsmobile with his girlfriend in the passenger seat. The girlfriend was trying to stop the bleeding when police arrived.
Charging documents say Rene Parks pulled up beside them in a dark green Nissan Rogue, said, “You think this is a game,” then allegedly fired one shot through the open driver’s side window.
Garreth was shot in the neck and later died at Sinai Hospital.
Police later searched Rene Parks’ home and car. They found a gun box, empty magazines with purple sparkle base plates, live 9mm rounds, a live round in the car, and a holster, but they did not find the purple gun she was accused of using.
She was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and handgun violations.
