LONG ISLAND, NY — Authorities in Suffolk County are actively searching for a woman accused of fatally stabbing a man in Jamesport earlier this year.

Investigators say Majorie Quarrie, who also goes by the name Nicola Watson, is wanted for the March 4, 2024 killing of Conrad Gowan, who was found with a stab wound to the neck inside his home at 448 Herricks Lane shortly before midnight.

Gowan, 36, was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His family is still struggling with the loss.

“There’s not a day I don’t cry about my nephew,” said Debbie Thompson, Gowan’s aunt.

Police issued a Crime Stoppers alert on Monday for Quarrie, who is 53 years old and originally from Jamaica. Detectives believe the stabbing happened in a moment of rage after she discovered she wasn’t the only woman in Gowan’s life.

“She had gone to Queens that day to see him, then drove to Jamesport and found another woman at his apartment,” said Homicide Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer. “She was turned away at first but later returned. A confrontation followed, and she stabbed him in the neck.”

Quarrie is now wanted on a second-degree murder warrant.

Detectives believe she may still be in Queens, moving between basement apartments and working under the table as a home health aide — the same profession Gowan was working in before his death. He had aspirations of becoming a registered nurse and hoped to bring his mother to the U.S. from Jamaica.

“He worked so hard and had big dreams,” said his sister, Michelle Edwards. “He just wanted to build a better life.”

Quarrie has a criminal history, including past arrests for grand larceny and drug offenses, and police say she’s known to change her look often, sometimes wearing wigs. Multiple photos of her have been released.

The family is pleading for justice.

“Turn yourself in,” Edwards urged. “We can’t sleep. We can’t move on until you face what you’ve done.”

Gowan leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter, in addition to his grieving family.

Anyone with information on Quarrie’s whereabouts is urged to contact Suffolk County Police or Crime Stoppers.
