Three Alleged MacBallers Members Charged In Bronx Sidewalk Execution Style Murder

Federal prosecutors in New York have charged three alleged gang members in connection with the killing of Ralph Herrera, also known as “Chicken,” who was shot at point blank range while standing on a busy Bronx sidewalk.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, Jahrid Dawkins, Kadin West, also known as “Kay Backends,” and Milan Wright, also known as “BabyyThreat,” were arrested after a federal indictment accused them of being connected to the MacBallers, a violent Bronx based gang prosecutors say was involved in drug trafficking, robberies, and violence against rivals.

The case centers on an alleged dispute that happened on August 5, 2025, outside a Bronx store. Prosecutors say West, Wright, and other gang members got into an altercation with Herrera. In the days after that confrontation, West and Wright allegedly discussed killing Herrera in retaliation for what they believed was disrespect.

Two days later, on August 7, 2025, prosecutors say Dawkins walked up to Herrera wearing a mask and all black clothing, then shot him in the side of the head at point blank range before running from the scene. Officials said the killing was captured on video.

The indictment places the shooting near Westchester and Morrison Avenues in the Bronx. Prosecutors say the murder was tied to racketeering activity connected to the MacBallers, including violence used to protect the gang’s reputation, retaliate against perceived disrespect, and strengthen the gang’s position.

Dawkins, West, and Wright are all charged with racketeering conspiracy. West and Wright are also charged with conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering. West faces additional charges including murder in aid of racketeering and a firearms offense. Prosecutors said West could face mandatory life in prison if convicted of the murder charge, while the most serious penalties in the case could include life in prison or death.

The three defendants were ordered detained after their arrests. Federal officials emphasized that the charges are allegations, and all three defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
