A 20-year-old North Carolina man is facing an attempted murder charge after investigators say he fired multiple shots into a woman's vehicle during a violent encounter in Brunswick County.
According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened on July 2 along Carlon Road in the Longwood community. Authorities allege that Tyz'jae Gore intentionally fired into the woman's car with the intent to kill her. Court records also accuse Gore of punching the woman during the incident.
Investigators launched an investigation following the shooting, gathering evidence and identifying Gore as the suspect. After several days, deputies arrested him on Saturday, July 4.
Gore has been charged with attempted murder and is being held at the Brunswick County Detention Center. Court records indicate that no bond has been set.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday, July 6, at the Brunswick County Courthouse.
Authorities have not released additional details about what led up to the shooting or whether the victim suffered any injuries. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering evidence surrounding the incident.
If convicted, an attempted murder charge carries severe penalties under North Carolina law, and prosecutors are expected to present the evidence collected during the investigation as the case moves through the court system.
