Chicago Woman Charged with Murder and Sexual Assault in Separate Cases
CHICAGO — A 27-year-old Chicago woman, Kendra Head, has been charged in two unrelated incidents: the murder of a man during a marijuana transaction last summer and the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in 2023.
The Murder Case
The fatal shooting occurred on August 31, 2024, in the 2900 block of East 89th Street. Prosecutors allege that Head was conducting a marijuana deal with Alfredo Gonzalez, who was celebrating his 36th birthday at the time.
Court documents reveal that around 8:30 a.m., Head smoked marijuana near Gonzalez’s car and remarked to a witness about the quality of his marijuana. Shortly after, she allegedly pulled a firearm, demanded Gonzalez’s belongings, and fatally shot him during the confrontation.
Video evidence proved critical to the investigation, with multiple Chicago police officers recognizing Head from the footage, according to a detention order issued by Judge Shauna Boliker.
The Sexual Assault Case
In an unrelated incident, prosecutors accuse Head of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on November 8, 2023. Head allegedly picked up the girl from her home and took her to a motel, where she and a 34-year-old man assaulted the teen after she had consumed alcohol and a pill and fallen asleep.
Prosecutors also claim Head sent explicit videos to the girl before the assault.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Head now faces charges of first-degree murder in the Gonzalez case and aggravated criminal sexual assault in the case involving the minor.
